Goal

Rays of Kindness Initiative Uganda is a non-government organization founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown with a mission to transform and support the lives of vulnerable children, Adolescent girls, and young women. We empower youths aged 10-24 years who are at risk of exploitation, HIV/AIDs infection, child marriage, sexual abuse, and child labor. 

Through our holistic program, we support them to achieve their life goal and unlock their full potential.

To Enhance Children's education with school fees, scholastic materials, sanitary towels and socio-economic transformation of disadvantaged young youths through advocacy, psychosocial and skill development for self – reliance and reintegration.

A transformed Society with youths living a Good quality of life.

To transform and support the lives of vulnerable children, Adolescent girls, and young women so that they can achieve their life goals and Potential.

KEY PROGRAM AREAS

Transforming lives and creating lasting change

At ROKI, we believe in creating a brighter future for vulnerable Children,
Adolescent girls and Young Women by addressing their immediate needs
and equipping them with the skills to thrive. Our programs focus on:

Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Awareness and Access
Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Awareness and Access. Under this program, we have provided comprehensive SRHR Education and services to the youths, adolescents, and young women.
Socio-Economic Empowerment.
At ROKI, we equip Adolescent Girls and Young Women with practical skills in the form of vocational skills such as Tailoring, Hair dressing, Shoe making, Soap making, and cosmetology to foster self-reliance, create employment opportunities, and reduce dependency
Advocacy, Mentorship, and Community Engagement.
Through partnerships with local government, Community leaders, schools, parents, and CSOs, we have continuously advocated for the Rights of youths, adolescents, and young women.
Research
Currently, Rays of Kindness Initiative Uganda is conducting research in Buyende district in Eastern Uganda. Our Research is focusing on an “Assessment of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights knowledge and practices among adolescents in Buyende district”
Have graduated youths, adolescents, and young women in the vocational skills program. With 40% of these starting up small businesses, 10% linked for employment, and 90% of them saving under a VSLA group of their choice.

Our Impact

Adolescents and young women have been Trained in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, leading to a 60% increase in knowledge about contraceptives and safe sex.

Youths have been reached, conducted over 10 outreaches in schools, and also distributed sanitary kits, which reduced school absenteeism through our mentorship program.
